Small images display in main image place when clicked

I’m relatively new to coding and would like a little help with the coding for having images in me strip gallery (below the main image) display on my main image space when clicked.
I have provided an image to help explain.

So I would like to have the small images to appear in the place of the large main image when the small images are clicked upon. I have placed a little note in the image to help explain what I am trying to do. Is there code to do this?
