srcset does not update after changing image src

Hello all! If you have not already please submit bug reports for this issue. This is a community based forum and not actively moderated by customer care so can get lost.

I did submit a ticket. But I was not aware this could be a bug then. Is bug report different from submitting a ticket?

Apologies for the poor use of language - yes, submitting the issue is correct

Thank you @amandam I requested a callback and the adviser on the phone said they will look into it and get back to me.

Amazing and yes - they will email back. If you wait a couple of days and have not heard, please leave your ticket number here and I will also forward internally and see if i can find anything

Hi Amanda, thanks for your post. I spoke to one advisor three days ago who confirmed it was not a problem with my individual website and escalated it by giving me a ticket number and said I would get an email. I have still not received this so spoke to another adviser today who could not explain what the issue was. I don’t know how to submit a bug report despite spending a fair amount of time trying to find out.

Sorry, I caused confusion by calling it a bug report. What you did is correct. I am sorry you have not heard back anything yet. I have passed this thread and another along internally in hopes of finding more information as well. It seems to be affecting many based on the places I am seeing reports like this so hopefully will be resolved soon

Definitely check your spam email folder too. I know sometimes things get lost there.

Thanks. Will do. Can you give us any indication of time scales that these things usually take to resolve?

Thank you for your concern @amandam

My ticket number should be 591140165

I have a presentation soon and I would be grateful if this was sorted out rapidly :smiling_face_with_tear:

Thanks Amanda. I had contacted support several times on Thursday and Friday. Each time, the initial support person understood the issue, could recreate it and explained that they were escalating the ticket. I have never heard back from a higher-level of support though.

These are the ticket numbers:
Request 833093986
Request 140209408
Request 251933095

Thanks for anything you can do to assist.
Derek

Same issue - I have fixed this in some cases by replacing the “default” image (the one in the editor) with a new image and then it seemed to work again. But this only worked on some of the image elements on my site - others stubbornly refuse to accept new src properties. Please look into this Wix!

I think there is some randomness to it. .src fails to work on most of my pages, but I have two pages where it works perfectly with identical code to the ones that fail! I’m certain that the properties are being updated as the tooltips change to the new file name and I’ve read it back to prove the change as well.
I’ve tried changing the images and creating new ones, neither work.

Thanks Wix. It all seems to be working now. Hopefully it is for everyone else too.

Thank you for reporting! Glad that it is working now. If you experience this issue again or in the future you will want to open a new issue. So sorry for the disruption

I had to republish my site before I could confirm that the previous functionality was restored.

Thank you for providing this additional detail to help others

This is great news, thanks for everyone’s additional
comments to help confirm that the issue was not related to my code. What is the process to initiate an “After Incident Review”? I know “stuff happens” but my client and I want to know why there was no communication from Wix (not even a response to any of my multiple tickets) and how the Wix user community can be kept
more up to date as these issues are identified, and some progress updates as they are being addressed. Thanks

I agree. I had the same lack of responses and this was frustrating. It would have been reassuring just to hear it was being addressed and to have an indication of timescales. Not sure how to feed this back. Maybe just add another email to one of your open threads. I will do this too.

My site is now working properly again. So I assume the bug has been squashed.

Me too. All good now.
