User input field on Plan purchase?

Is there a way I can add a user input data field when someone purchases a plan?

I’d like to add a simple text box like, who referred you? or similar.

We use it for lead qualification and points awarded for an ambassador program.

Currently can be done on the custom member form, but would be great on paid plans to save sorting.
