Is there anyway I could use the site generated member system with database collection, such as creating a custom comment section using database collections, but having who ever posted it be displayed with their PFP.

Hey
You can connect any Data Collection to logged in members. If you want to you can create a new member page and filter by logged in user in a dataset. As long as the currently logged in user creates the content that will be filtered by logged in user.
