Variant item pricing

Hi, I have a few sections in my store that pertain to plumbing items with various inlet and outlet diameters, coating options etc. I find its much easier to just type in the items price in the variables table rather than start with a base price then try to do the math on 300+ items to figure out what the price should be. Only issue is, when looking at the products page, it says please contact us for pricing instead of starting with the lowest priced item. Is there a way I can have it automatically select the lowest priced item, then users can select what they need and the price updates instead of leaving them confused?
