When using a normal menu completely with Anchors, why the archor menu doesn't change color when I click on it?

I have made the menu sticky so that it stays while I look at different sections using the menu. It’ll be a great help if the menu item changes color (as it does in the Header Menu with all pages). Is that possible?

PS. The menu does provide the choice to change color, but in reality, it doesn’t work.
