Why would it be okay for the wix mobile app to not have it require that people fill out a booking form??? If this hasn’t been changed, it means we cannot trust the mobile app to let people book at all!
Hi PMEZ, I will forward your feedback to our team.
I think it’s because their info is already collected. They don’t need to fill out a form for name/email - it’s all attached to their profile.
No. You’re assuming a booking service requires only one’s name and email to register. Default and Custom Booking Forms are available for each and all Booking Services to use so that they can collect relevant/mandatory information and details for all sorts of different types of Appointments, Courses or Classes that people can book on the mobile app or via desktop.
If one can log into the mobile app and have only their basic info saved and ready, no differently than on desktop, then we wouldn’t now have the option to collect more information through forms. Thus the option to collect additional info should not only be there for desktop signups, but via the mobile app as well.
I believe Wix App is only made for a faster, simple, alternative solution. If you have custom code usage/special stuff on some Wix Apps (e.g. Store/ Bookings/ Hidden Pages*), you should not use Wix App. It will make your data visible to all on the App.
#featurerequest: Disable the Wix App ENTIRELY. - I found that the wix app will automatically ask the user the join the website space if they have login on the website with the same email. This made some site owner who haven’t used Wix App confuse, because the user can see some unnecessary stuff on the App (and owner hide it on the website already)
*For example: You have 2 store, one is for customer, one is for business. They have 2 pricing. On the website, you can hide it with separated pages. On the Wix App, it shows to all. That’s a pain.
Extra: We have done some coding with the Wix Booking to build a custom procedure of bookings (See the Velo free examples). Then, the client say why the form is not working on the App? Ans: OMG! You want it working on the App, not only the site?? The Client: Yes… => and we turn into a Paypal dispute
So, make sure you have to think of the case of the usage of the Wix App. Sometimes may crash with the owner intent.
