Wix Studio Certification Question

I’m undertaking the Wix Studio Certification with the demo site replication. Here.

I have a couple of issues I was looking for pointers on. Not looking for freebies to assist as such as I know its a test but checking if I have installed the provided library ok…

My issue is that the library provided has lower quality images than the Wix demo site you can link to and have to replicate. The library appears in the Assets section of “+” Elements after adding following the instructions.

I found If I “Save As” the images from the Wix Studio site at the link above I can add them to my site through the Media Manager & get the original quality. Why bother providing the library if those images are much poorer quality ?

Also, I cannot find the same fonts used on the Wix site… they are not included in the library… I have merely matched them as best I can in my replicated site but can see they are not identical. It is not possible to determine the fonts from the source of the Wix site.

Have I installed the library incorrectly to get the images and fonts used ??
Anybody done this and worked out the font issue ?

** Wix Studio Certification **

The images shouldn’t be massively different in quality, but if saving them from the live site works for you, that’s fine. The image quality won’t have an effect on whether the site will pass or not.

Regarding fonts and styles - the aim of the rebuild is to put your skills to the test in being able to deduce various parts of the sites. There’s a few ways of figuring it out, such as Chrome extensions that allow you to see a sites font, or inspecting element on the live site.

Hope this helps, and good luck with it! :party_popper:

Hi Noah, I have had a response re: my submission. Is there anyway to discuss with someone as I don’t understand what’s not working re: breakpoints. My submission works on desktop, tablet & mobile (for me) and is fully responsive but have no details on what’s not correct from Wix’ point of view. Simple to fix if I could discuss with someone. There doesn’t seem to be a way to do this … can I contact someone directly via email ? thanks.

Hi, sorry meant to tag you Noah @noahlovell
My site is responsive for desktop / tablet and switches to mobile at 750 pixels when testing on a desktop. Above & below 1000 it renders perfectly on desktop / tablet down to 750 with the desktop version. At 750 and below it switches to the mobile format - again looks perfect. I have tested on desktop, iPad and Samsung S21. All perfect as far as I can see.
I did note that the Wix site switches to the mobile breakpoint format at 1000 pixels width (hamburger menu and single column format) - not 750) - which I can force if that is required. I don’t know what the specific issue is or why the Wix site switches to mobile format (on desktop) earlier than the default my Studio implementation. Can someone email me with more specific details of what the rendering / breakpoint issue is please. thank you.

No worries - I have the answer from Wix now. thanks.
