Work around to hide an entry on a list template?

I’m sure this is a some what dated question, all the different types of preconstructed lists templates appear to only have the duplicate or delete function when you have an entry posted on a list. I know a year or so ago you had the hide function for an entry. Very helpful when you have seasonal posts and the like. Anyone have a creative way around this? Wix removing the hide function for an entry is terrible! Thank you
