Hello,
I’m fairly new to Wix, having come over after Adobe discontinued Muse. I am working with a clothing site that does school/work uniforms and custom orders. Due to this we have a ton of different product pages between the schools and companies that order from us.
Perviously, I had set pages for each item with an HTML iFrame that held a shopify product. As I was building the new site, I ran out of static pages and have been working to shift to Dynamic Pages. Not fully understanding how this worked, I then created Dynamic pages for each item (which I realized after the fact is not how dynamic pages seem designed to function, since I was basically just using the dynamic pages template to create more static pages).
With this in mind I have two questions.
-
Is there a way to link to these pages (If I attempt to link to one of these dynamic pages, when I go into the link option on the image that I want to connect it allows me to select it, then when I go to check that it has been connected the link automatically resets to the default/home page rather than the page I selected)
-
If there is no way to link these individual pages, is there a way to add HTML iFrames to the dynamic page template in a way that still allows for this functionality.
I apologize for any miss-terminology in this, please let me know if I can clarify further to ask the questions more effectively.
Thanks for your help!
If you are building an online store on Wix, then I would recommend using Wix-Stores . As the documentation states:
Wix Stores gives you all the tools you need to create a sleek, professional online store and grow your eComm business. You can display your products in stunning galleries, accept secured checkout, sell on multiple sales channels, and add dropshipping products to your store.
Regarding dynamic pages , the documentation states:
A dynamic page is a page that can change its content, while keeping the same design and layout. In Wix, any dynamic page that you add is connected to a collection in your content manager. This way, you can automatically populate 100’s of pages, just be entering info in your database collection.
While dynamic pages are powerful, and not really all that hard to work with, setting up a Wix Store is way easier than having to deal with dynamic pages and building your own store.
If you need further details or clarification regarding setting up your own Wix Store, I would recommend contacting Wix Customer Care .
Unfortunately, this is not an answer to my question. I appreciate your suggestion, but I am looking for a specific solution to the existing problem. We are very happy with shopify, and not interested in changing our e-commerce set up at this time.
If you have any ideas on using an iFrame within dynamic pages, that would be appreciated, otherwise this is not the avenue I am interested in.
You can try Nayeli’s tutorial: How to Embed a PDF on a Dynamic Page . That might work for you.
Awesome, thank you. I’ll take a look.
Have a great day,
Colter
