It would be great if we had the option on the New Wix Blog to allow readers to comment on a post without logging in! Perhaps instead they could be asked to provide a name that will show up with their comment, as well as the option to stay anonymous? I feel like not requiring a log-in would make it easier for other people to engage with the post. (I know the “like” version of this request is already a feature request, looking forward to that coming out!)

I have to agree here Wix. You have so many other awesome features but the blog does need some serious work. I’m afraid to say you need to check out Weebly’s blog as they have certainly upped the stakes on what you are currently offering.

I am currently in the market to move my Etsy operation to a stand alone website. I signed onto Wix for a year, just for a landing page, until I make up my mind who I end up with. After seeing how un-user friendly the blog is, I have all but made up my mind to go elsewhere.
I have had a blog on blogger for close to 13 years and have been trying to slowly migrate my posts over to the Wix blog. I can tell you that it is so frustrating. No one is going to want to ‘sign up’ to leave a quick blog post. I see comments all the time on other blogs that they will not leave a comment if they have to ‘sign up’ to leave a post.

Yes! It needs to be as easy as possible for people to want to engage. Please make it an option for anyone to comment. Very frustrating. I love almost everything about wix, but this one thing just doesn’t make sense.

I second that request. Actually that feature missing almost became a deal breaker and made me look for alternative providers. I just was too lazy to start from scratch so I really hope this will be added soonish!
Wix developers, I have so many missing options that just would not be an issue in other platforms. Having Likes and comment without login not a huge addition but really a life saver for many users. How many votes we should give you so this feature will be finally developed?
AGREE!! Why can you edit lest a post compare to the old blog format (color text, picture placement and size, etc)
I have been waiting for this feature for more than 8 months already, everyone asks me “but why do your users have to login to comment and like?” And it just doesn’t make sense. I just joined and after I set up the whole blog I was almost completely disheartened to discover this set back. Why? Because personally I would never comment or hit a like that required more work than the thing I wanted to do initially. If this doesn’t change I will eventually move my blog as well. Used to have one on Wordpress but wanted to change my target audience. The original target was much easier. I will also add the “vote for it link”:

If you are wanting your blog to be an outreach tool and interactive then as of yet WIX Blog is a killer. Engagement will drop off the map if you are switching from WP. Sorry for the bad news. Hopefully that is fixed soon but they’ve been pretty silent on this.
