Amazon Associates One Link

Hi,

I have my One Link code from Amazon Associates but am struggling to get it to work on my site.
Amazon says “Copy the JavaScript code and integrate into the footer/before the end tag of the body of your website.”
I have tried inserting this code in the “site” section of the code box.
Also tried adding the code in an html box and dragging this into the footer.
Finally tried inserting the code in the tracking and analytics section on the wix dashboard to no avail.
This is my code:

Please help if you can!

Hey,

Has anyone tried the above before? Need to insert the Amazon one link but cannot get it to work…?

Hello, I think the Amazon Affiliate Associates was a good business

I also have tried all of the above that @helenbatstone91 has done and it still does not work. I contacted the Wix customer service via telephone and we tried doing it through the HTML Wix widget, that didn’t work. Then he suggested going through the dashboard to the Tracking & Analytics section and copied the code on there. Apparently, he said he could see it working from their side. But when I ask my friend who lives in the UK to check if the link takes her to her local amazon, it’s still not working. Has anyone else had any luck at all with Amazon Associates Onelink on their Wix site? If so, how did you sort that out?

I also contacted Amazon help, they are unable to help with any HTML coding and suggested to write in the forum. Which wasn’t helpful.

Would love to just have this up and running…

I am wondering what the best plan is while this gets sorted out. Do I wait to set up my Onelink in the hopes that wix will fix the issue quickly (what’s their track record for that kind of stuff), or is it better off to pick one country and have the links set up for it to start?

I would ideally definitely like to get the OneLink set up just because it would be so easy and handy for users to directly go their country Amazon site with no hassle. My temporary fix with this is I have seperate links for Amazon US and Amazon UK dotted on each post or around my site. Which is extra admin I just don’t need.
I had a similar issue with the coding for getting google ads up on my site, and their solution for that now, seems to be done through apps. They now have a Google Adsense app that you put in your website where you paste the ad code and that seems to work fine.
I may try to call wix help desk and request an amazon affiliate onelink app. I’m not even sure if that is possible but it is definitely worth a shot. Either that or I would have to manually send them my Amazon one link code for them to then input into my website coding because I literary do not have access to it because Wix websites are all ‘pre-created’.
They’re actually pretty helpful when you call them because I have had a few issues with my wix site and they were able to assist me as best as they could. Also, what they do is they put a request in for an item that is not on wix yet and they in the future, will hopefully create it.

Hope this helps…let me know what your temporary solution will be? Would be good to know what works and what doesnt

Has anyone figured this out yet?

So I called Wix helpline and asked if they could implement an app for amazon OneLink, because there’s simply no way to put it in the coding of my site. It’s definitely not possible. I also asked if I could speak to the coding team but I was told I couldn’t. Which sucks…so for now, no solution. But they have flagged it as an issue. I’m actually surprised more people aren’t finding this problem frustrating. Amazon is a major affiliate site. So yeah, no solution as of yet!

+1, I’m about to get an article from a 700,000 followed FB page in France & only have links for Amazon US whilst having set up for Amazon OneLink to then realise its not possible on WIX yet :grimacing:

Thank you for the update Chrissysbookblog! That is really unfortunate, but I appreciate you going through the effort!

Yes, I too would like this resolved…Wix please fix this asap!! Much appreciated!!

PROBLEM SOLVED !! I have completed a step-by-step tutorial on this issue This is more than a work-around until Wix creates a OneLink widget, but it does work.

I’m pretty sure I didn’t leave out any steps. I’ve been a web designer an developer for 20 years and a graphic designer for 25 years. Feel free to ask any questions here or by email:

Man I hope this works! Thanks so much, I’ll give it a shot and will let you know how I got on

@chrissysbookblog It absolutely works. Let me know if you need any assistance.
Thanks

Fantastic Work Brian!!

Thanks so much for putting this together! I followed all of the steps and didn’t seem to have any issues, however when I went to check a US Amazon short link (I live in Canada), it still took me to the US Amazon website. So I am assuming it is not working properly. Any thoughts as to why this might be? I don’t have a VPN so I can’t check if the other countries are working properly or not.

I’m assuming the actual link you’re copy pasting for the product remains the same US link you get off your US amazon associates account, which is then linked to all the other countries. Let me know if that’s wrong.

Thanks again for all of the help on this! It is so nice to have a workaround.

@vvcreations Tks heaps mate, it seems to have worked for me too and www.drone-made.com Thing is, how do we know the product we promote/sell is available in each visitors’ country and in their local currency? In my case its a US product that seems available for shipping to UK for example but still displays US prices and there will be a delivery fee when locals could get it for cheaper and faster… Is there a workaround to switch product?

@vvcreations Thanks for putting together a detailed step by step! I’m actually having the same issue as Ana commented about - I believe I followed every step in the document but it does not seem to be working. I live in Canada, and I actually still used my VPN to redirect me elsewhere in Canada, and I’m still getting a US link when I click on the links in the site. I also tried turning WIFI off on my phone and going through cell only, same issue.

Any chance there has bee additional troubleshooting since this was originally posted? Perhaps a common mistake folks were making in the steps?

Thanks again!

@vvcreations I’m also having the same issue :frowning: I live in Canada and my US links are still taking me to the US sites despite following the instructions. Any new developments?
