Hoping someone can help with what seems like a catch 22.
I need to create a business email for my client, who is currently set up a billing manager. I’m on Wix Studio Pro and already have the domain linked up.
When the client tries to set up a business email himself, he is told that ‘only site owners can buy a business email’ and obviously I don’t want to transfer site ownership.
Previously, when I set up the pro account for the client, I was able to send a payment request link, however this isn’t available for setting up a business email.
It seems like I only have two options: make the client the site owner or sit on a zoom call with him whilst he gives me his credit card details, which isn’t practical.
I think you outlined your two best options. If your business model is to keep ownership of the websites you create, then you will most likely go with the Zoom call option.
My clients own their websites once they are completed, so we do not have this issue. Good luck.
I also transfer over site ownership at project completion but this is at the start of the build (the client wanted a business email ASAP) so I need to retain ownership for now
I always create the websites and do all the integrations before transferring them to the client. For integrations that require payments, such as hosting, domain, and email marketing, I request the client’s credit card information, with the option of a video call if the client prefers.
