I’d like to redesign my current website factorylondon.com by making some UX tweaks to the layout, styling, elements and workflow and I would prefer to use my developer to ensure exact replication of the placement and design by developing a new template rather than using the Wix editing tools to adjust the existing site. Does anyone know if this is possible?
Hey
As for now you can’t create your own templates in Wix, you can copy your site to your developer and then replace the domain pointing to the new site when it’s done.
Thanks Andreas. Do you mean use an alternative CMS than Wix?
@adam53010 No no, make a copy of your wix site and let your designer / developer work on the copy then you can take that back but you can’t use templates and change stuff except when using Wix ADI.
@andreas-kviby still confused Andreas… How exactly can they work on the copy? Just by using the Wix Editing tools? I’m unclear on how my developer can make the changes required if development of templates is not possible? My concern is that the designs my designer creates may require custom coding outside of what is possible to change by using the Wix Editing tools alone.
Thank you for your guidance.
@adam53010 Hey, designing a Wix website must always be done within the Wix Editor, that’s the whole point by using Wix as a design tool. If you need something else then Wix is not your cup of coffee.
