Hello,
I’m trying to port over my designs from Figma. With the plug-in, I was able to get it to work fine for the desktop. Now I need to make the mobile version look good, but the Wix editor is a big tricky for me to use. So I’d rather do the mobile design in Figma again and port it over.
Am I able to port over one design for desktop and one for mobile? When I tried to port over the mobile version it didn’t work and only let me bring in the styles.
Please let me know if anyone has any thoughts on this. Thank you!
Can You Import Separate Desktop and Mobile Designs from Figma to Wix?
Not directly
Wix’s Figma-to-Wix plugin (as of now) is designed to import a single layout, typically the desktop version, and then expects you to **manually adjust the mobile layout within the Wix Editor.
Unfortunately, you cannot import one design for desktop and a separate one for mobile using the Figma plugin. It doesn’t support mapping two artboards (e.g., one desktop and one mobile) to the responsive views separately.
Why Your Mobile Version Didn’t Work?
When you tried to import the mobile version, Wix likely only pulled in styles and components — not a separate responsive layout. This is expected behavior; the plugin assumes you’re updating styles rather than creating an alternate layout.
Here’s how you can get your mobile version working smoothly:
- Import Desktop Design from Figma to Wix (as you already did).
- In Wix Editor (not Wix Studio):
Switch to the mobile view.
Manually reposition, resize, or hide elements to match your mobile Figma layout.
Use the “Don’t Show on Mobile” setting if certain desktop elements don’t belong on mobile.
- Optional Hack (if you’re using Wix Studio):
You can technically create two versions of a layout (one mimicking mobile), then use custom breakpoints or hide/show based on viewport.
However, this isn’t clean or recommended for performance or SEO.
