Can I recode a Wix Store to display new additions last, rather than first as is default?

I am currently using the basic Wix Store app in Editor. My main store page includes all my products, which are books, with a custom filter so that people can filter by genre. I have the first few pages of the main store arranged with the books I want to highlight, that I want people to see first.

I am currently very frustrated because the Wix Store app displays the newest additions by default. The only way to rearrange which books display on the first page is to drag and drop each item by hand back up to the top of the category (in this case the category is All Products, but this holds true for all categories). I am adding new books to the store about 100 at a time, it’s ludicrous to be dragging 100 books every time I add products.

I have spoken to Wix Store customer support and there is no way to change this default setting (that the items added most recently display at the top) and this is absolutely screwing with my ability to use this store. (I’m honestly shocked to be the only person with a Wix store who has an issue with this, it seems completely nuts to have that be an unchangeable default.) So now I’m wondering if I use Velo to make a store from scratch, can I set it so the most recently added books are displayed last?

This is possible with Velo. You’d use wixData.query().descending("column") to get the data in the order you want and then can assign it to a Repeater’s .data property.

This is the gist of it, there’d be a good bit more work involved in total with laying out the repeater and setting what to do when an item is added; along with implementing the store logic using wix-stores-frontend.
