Coding to search from database

Good evening everyone,

I’m completely lost in this world of coding that’s why I’m looking for someone to help me code to search from a database. I want to add some diplomas to my site so I wish to create a page were people can look up their diplomas online by searching their license numbers. I’ve seen some codes already online and the problem is that the letters end up in red and nothing works. I’ve tried several tutorials even from the coding queen and not even with that. I’m not sure if something is wrong with my website or the fact that I don’t know how to code is what’s keeping me from achieving what I need. If someone may be of assistance please it is very urgent.
