Connection error when trying to add collections to site

I’m trying to add a collection to my site but i get this error when trying too. My computer has connection to the internet and everything else works fine.

I’ve tried to add a collection through the “My Apps” page but it takes too long to respond.

any help would be appreciated.

Hi, when did it happen? Can you reload the editor and try again?

I just started developing the site 1/8/18 and this was a problem then as well. I’ve tried reloading the editor and that hasn’t worked.

From our side it looks like you’re having some internet connectivity issues.

  1. Can you try using a private mode like Chrome Incognito to rule out browser extensions or plugins?
  2. Can you please provide a screenshot of the browser console so we can see if you have any errors (copy pasting the logs is also good)?

Thanks!

This is the browser console for the “MyApp” page way of adding a collection (Done in incognito mode).

This is the same but from the editor menu(Also in incognito mode).

There’s a browser warning on the first screenshot about poor connectivity, which increases the suspicion about internet connection issues.
Do you by any chance have another computer to test with? Maybe try a different network, for example home/office?

Solution: Turns out it was a network problem, not a hardware. Thank you for helping me out on this one, much appreciated.

What exactly was the solution to resolve this? I’m facing this issue in 2 different DB’s where I can’t view the live data due to this error as well. My connection is solid and I consistent verify it at 70Mbps.

@elitheillusionist Have you tried with a different browser or in incognito mode per Tomer’s previous suggestion. Sometimes if you have many browser tabs open Chrome or some of its extensions can impact with connectivity. Also check the resources on your computer, sometimes chrome loads multiple processes each of which can be over 500MB is size. If your computer is running out of memory that would result in strange issues.

Also take a look at the console log (see yellow image above) and see what is being shown there.

Lastly, feel free to share the site url and the action that causes the problem.

@stevendc I have tried all of your suggestions before I reached out on here. I have a background in IT, so I’m usually pretty good as resolving issues. Here are the tests a ran:
• Tried 3 different computers
-Desktop computer (gaming computer)
-2 decent laptops
• Browsers
-Chrome (incognito / no extensions)
-FireFox (Private browsing)

Some of my databases open the live data. I have one that does not though. That’s the inconsistent part that leads me to believe there is something wrong on the wix side.

@elitheillusionist I have the same problem and it happen to one specific database collection. When I click the “live” button, a “network problem” popup appears. The problem is in the Wix side apparently.

The problem is in the “Members/PrivateMembersData” collection. It isn’t syncing to the live database, so, it breaks the reference. When I removed the reference to that collection, the sync buttom works well and the live data appears.

But I need the user information on this collection, Wix should fix it.

@elitheillusionist Have you tried accessing the database from the site’s Dashboard Database page?

Hi Maiquel: I think you are right. Have you reported this as a bug? I’ll raise it with QA here.
The work around is to use text as the reference field instead of reference. The disadvantage here is that you will not be able to retrieve records using .include(). It is likely that you are not doing this. If you are then you will need to perform a separate wixData get or query to get the Members/PrivateMembersData record.

Good day I also have a problem using collections. See image attached. Please direct me to the right thread if this is not applicable to this thread.
