I am converting an existing car club site to wix. We have approx 350 members. The members database has specific information needed by our club. Unless there is a way to extend the contacts database built into wix, I need to create a new database collection and import my users. Then I need to be able to use that database collection for login and protected membership pages.

Currently you cannot access the standard Wix Contacts using Wix Code. We are working on a solution for this very issue.
In the meantime, if you’re itching to get this up and running you can take a look at this article: Velo Tutorial: Building Your Own Members Area | Help Center | Wix.com.
Note though, that the solution in development will not work with what is described in the article. If you will want to change over to that solution in the future, you will basically be starting over.
I have Lots of pages to create so this can wait. My target date is January. Would this feature be available then?

Thanks. Also, is the wix database a Relational db? For example, if I create a member table (collection) and then a car collection for members to register their cars, can the car record contain the member-id so that at display time the registered car can show the owners profile? Currently doing this with an underlying informix database

has this already been figured out? I’m referring to the last cwvega76’s post above about using Site Member ID field or Owner field as a Reference field (or any other system field without the need to create own Reference fields).
