Custom fonts not showing up on live site

Question:
Is there a way to make sure your custom fonts download to a site visitors browser?

Product:
Wix Studio

What are you trying to achieve:
I just finished up a clients site and I am testing it out on other devices. I am noticing that one of the fonts are not showing up correctly. I uploaded this font in the correct format but when I visit it from another device, the browser does not download the fonts.

Is there a workaround for this?

Hi, @Benjamin_Sullivan !!

I’m not sure about the exact cause of the issue, but it might be worth trying a workaround, such as applying the font-family to the text using global.css. If you’re using a font available on Google Fonts or Adobe Fonts, you could try avoiding direct font uploads to Wix and instead add the font’s link code to Wix’s custom code section to load the font data. Once the font is loaded through the link, you should be able to apply the font-family via global.css, which should successfully change the font of the text element. :innocent:

Hi,

It sounds like you’re running into an issue where the custom font you uploaded isn’t displaying correctly on other devices, which can sometimes happen due to a few different factors. Here are a few things you can check to resolve this issue

1. Ensure Font is Properly Uploaded
Double-check that the font file was uploaded correctly in Wix. If you’re using a custom font, make sure it’s in a web-safe format like .woff or .woff2. These are the preferred formats for web use, and they ensure compatibility across different browsers and devices.

2. Check the Font Settings
In the Wix Editor, go to SettingsFonts and make sure the font is applied to the correct elements and is selected properly in the style settings. If you made changes to the font but didn’t save or apply it globally, the font might not be loading correctly.
