Database not showing data

The table and dataset are connected and I always sync them. It was working properly where people could come on my site, submit information on three columns (their name, status and date) that populate the table alongside other information (like their email, which remains private) after they submit that information. There are other columns in my database that is also submitted on the form I set up that is not shown on the table. The database was set to write-only and the permissions were set either to form submission or custom (anyone can read content --I don’t remember) before something happened and now nothing appears on my data table on my website. Mind you, I never changed the settings on it and it was working properly until now. If I change it to either read or read/write, it shows other private information of people on the actual form, which didn’t appear before. What happened? What can I do?

Hi,
I would connect the form to a Write Only dataset and the table to a different dataset of the same collection which is set to Read Only. Moreover, I recommend re-checking the collection permissions.

Best,
Tal.

The thing is that the form is made up of user input bars and there’s no option to make them write-only, unless it is and I’m just not seeing it. It’s nowhere in the input settings.

You should change the dataset mode, not the user inputs mode… Click here to learn more about Working with Dataset Modes and Collection Permissions.

The dataset mode is on write-only mode. You mentioned " I would connect the form to a Write Only dataset " . The form has no option for me to do that besides connecting it to the dataset which is already on write-only. I checked the collection permissions already, but it doesn’t seem to do anything. I’ve tried both form submission permission and custom permission where I allow visitors to see the data content. It was working perfectly before. I never updated anything.

Can you please send us the site URL so that we can have a look?
Thanks,
Tal.

@sapirh Hello, I am facing the same issue described in this thread. I am dealing with a user collection form. I have linked the database and have made it write-only, but the user inputs into the form do not get recorded in the database. My database collection type is form submission.

Hi @mattsoh ,
I checked your site and haven’t seen a user input form.

Hi Tal,

I’m also having the issue for several database collections using the wixData.save function. It works on preview but not on live.

Thanks,
Anney

i have the same exact issue. the only difference is that my users can complete the form but the data submissions show me no entries or just a sign up page
