the output i wanted is “Date return: Thu Aug 23 2018” without the time im using date picker please help and im using sendgrid to send email in my website

My date picker is choose by the visitor of my page like example my client will choose a date to get a car and if he choose a date it will send it to my email which i need is the date only i dont need the time
