Different color for each item in a horizontal menu

There are options in the Editor to customize the top horizontal menu but it seems all items must be identical. I want to change the background or hover color of each menu item to match the section it links to (eg. red, green, blue, etc).

Any way to do this using the Editor or code?

If you are using Wix Studio you could add the menu as seperate button/container and add a hover effect to suit what you want.
