I’m new to Wix Studio and I have a few questions that I couldn’t find answers to in the forum or on Wix’s pages.
I’ve signed up as a freelancer and I want to create websites for some clients. From what I understand, I need to pay for a full package for each client, like the basic $17/month plan? Is it not possible to pay for one package and then just purchase additional domains to connect to the websites?
Another question, each package says it includes one free domain for a year. My question is, after one year, is the domain still included in the $17 monthly fee, or is there an extra charge? And how much is it?
One more question: to have a single email address for the domain, am I required to add the Google Workspace suite? Is there no possibility to create aliases that forward to other servers or redirect to external addresses like Gmail?
I am asking these questions because my potential clients only require a simple presentation website with the following pages: home, about us, contact, and services. Therefore, a suite like Google Workspace is unnecessary and too expensive for the sole purpose of creating a single email account. Additionally, while I can justify an initial investment of $300 for the first year, an annual fee of $200 for a static website seems excessive. My clients often compare these costs to other hosting services that are priced below $20 per year. From my perspective, while I provide support, allocating almost the entire $200 to Wix leaves me with a minimal profit margin.

Hello, normally this type of question would be handled by Wix Support, but as a member of the community, I will provide a brief answer. First, Wix sites require a premium plan and domain on a per-site basis. After the one-year free domain period, regular renewal fees will likely apply. As for creating an email address with a custom domain, there are alternatives to using Google Workspace. For example, you could sign up for an external hosting service that includes email, and either modify Wix’s DNS settings or the new hosting service’s DNS settings to link with Wix. This would allow you to create an email address for the domain used to publish your Wix site. However, since Wix recommends Google Workspace, using another method to set up a custom domain email address will likely involve some additional complexity.

I think you are asking if Wix has pricing discounts for bulk websites (like SiteJet Studio builder has) for agencies/freelancers that build for clients (where their prices are as low as $5 per month). They do not. Each website gets its own hosting, and the more features you want —- the higher the price.
Wix offers free domain for 1 yr, then you have to renew domain at regular price. It is separate from the hosting packages.
Wix is a reseller of Google Workspace, so you get limited features than you would get if you connected everything directly cia Google.
