Dynamic Page 404 Error

Following the tutorial to set up a member profile page: Velo Tutorial: Building Your Own Members Area | Help Center | Wix.com

I’ve basically copy/pasted the code into the Page code tab, modified the button elements to match the ‘login/logout’ button and the ‘my profile’ button as well as replacing the ‘Members’ database with my database ‘Profile’ and the code that relies on the database name as well. I double-checked the tutorial and ran through it twice, and unfortunately the dynamic page url is unable to be reached. 404 page pops up saying [site.com]/Profile/[WixUser’s ID here] can’t be found. However, the live database collection contains the exact ID found in the link and to be sure I temporarily opened up the permissions to ensure it wasn’t a permission error and the error still popped up. I don’t know why it can’t be reached, so any help is greatly appreciated. If you need more info about the site, don’t hesitate to ask.

I have the same issue, did you get a fix?

What is weird is that it works for everyone except for a few people, including me, who were in the early testing of this feature on the website. I maybe deleted something that caused this problem, in which case I tried creating a new dynamic page, creating another member account that wasn’t deleted or messed with by previous versions of the site, which ended up fixing most of the issue. However, my client had lots of 404 issues on a couple different browsers but found that switching browsers fixed the issue. Incredibly funky, but since that’s a definite fix for a small isolated party, we just ignored the bug/glitch.

Hi Guys,
Have you all checked permission settings?

Roi.

I’ve followed the tutorial exactly, if this was the case I would be getting a 403 Forbidden page error. It was after I tried to delete something (I forgot what), that a select few people from the early stages of the site got 404 errors. Really weird

Hi Nicholas,
Can you paste a link to your site and specify the name of the page so we can inspect?
Roi.

Hi Roi,

I get the same 404 error for my dynamic pages. Can you help?

Philip Odle,

Have you checked the permissions for the collection used in the page?

If it is still not working, best to open a new thread and link to the site

Already did , no response

Was your sandbox data sync’d to your live database (Then hit publish)? That fixed it for me.
