Event dates appearing with letters instead of numbers for year

The dates for the events that I have just created are showing as za 07 Dec (Dec 7, 2024) or vr 27 Jun (June 27, 2025). What are these letters and how do I change them to numbers.

Thank you very much. It worked exactly as you said. The za and vr are the days of the week Friday and Saturday. All good now
