expand()/collapse() question

Hello All,

Have a question regarding collapse/expand functions. My elements collapsed and expands as per user checkbox selection and IN MOBILE version the page height changes accordingly. But in desktop version, it does not work - the page doesn’t changes in height. Any ideas, please?

Regards,

Yury

Yury, can you please share your site?

Hello Erez,

Yes, please, this is a page with checkboxes I mentioned:

https://greyhound72.wixsite.com/2018/chillers

And this page doesn’t work on Android at all…

Hi Yuri,
I see that your bottom dark-green / black lines are part of the footer.
Your footer is not freeze so just drag/drop those two strip above the footer and its should start to work.

Dear Erez, tried this but it doesn’t help…

Hi Yuri,
I just clone your site and try it.
You can see in below video the step by step I done in order to make it work.
Hope this will help, Erez

Dear Erez, thank you a lot!! And it works for me also, but with this solution, I need to copy the header content to each page of the site since the header itself is empty. And the free space after these my strips remains…

Hi Yuri, OK,
Other way to do it (tried it and its works but little more editor work) is as following:

  • All your filter fields are in strip
  • All your results boxes are on the page itself (Not in strip)
  • So, you can create new strip and put all result boxes inside the new created strip (Drag the boxes down then create new strip under the filter strip and start to drag/drop the boxes into the new strip as I wrote little work but works)

Yes, also think about it, I use strips almost everywhere since it is easy to adjust them. Will try it, thank you a lot! And strange issue with the mobile view disappeared when I make a copy (not duplicate) of the “Chillers” page. Old “Chillers” page did not showed on mobile devices, probably it is some kind of internal bug. I’ll try to replace hoverboxes with simple boxes to make the page faster.

Again, thank you a lot for your support and your time! And have a nice rest of the day!
Yury

Hmm, new strip (dark on the picture below) changes its size as necessary, but the gap below remains…

And one more thing: in mobile version, the page changes its height accordingly, so this issue belongs to desktop version only.

Finally I investigated the case with non-working resize of page with collapse() elements. When I started to make a page from the scratch, added 2 strips and test, the page height adjusted correctly. From some point when I continue editing the page, it STOPS adjusting the size when an element collapsed. It doesn’t linked with any elements, be it box, strip, etc., I just edited the text and from some point I noted the page doesn’t resized anymore. I repeat the same procedure a few times in row and now is absolutely sure that it is a bug.

Dear Erez, you may see it worked here: https://greyhound72.wixsite.com/2018/new-page

But in case I’ll edit something at this page, it will stop. For example, if I replace any strip with a box - it will stop. So it is a bug.

Hi Yury
Ive got the exacte same issue. After expand and colapse a Strip with text inside, the site
wont resize to its collapsed high. After epand/collapse the space bellow the Footer corelates to the high, the collapsing strip has had… After reload of the site, the footer is correct on the bottom again.
Have you may found a solution?
Does Wix have a solution for such a importand bug?
I mean, the Footer belongs to the bottom of a page, as its name suggest - allways. lol

Thanks for a short update.
Christof

EDIT: Strange enought on mobile it works flawlessly ???
