Hi Wix Team,
I wanted to know if we can ever get a import feature to our data collections as you have in the Contacts/CRM section? I also wanted to know if there is going to be a delete option for the data fields and for the data collection it self? (There are deletions in other functions like Public & Backend but not “yet” for Databases.
Would like to have trial and error in the same site. And not having to delete the site and start over.

Hi Nino!
As long as the information that you import is in the right format (CSV for contacts in that matter) you can update it in any of your collections using Wix Code. Simply export your collection and arrange the data to the relevant fields.
As for the deleting issue, for now it is possible to eliminate fields from your collections by “moving them to trash”. While its true that they are not being deleted - in the upcoming weeks the feature of deleting them (and deleting whole databases) is going to be released.

Thanks for responding. So what function/code in the API section should I use to export the data from one of my collections on my website?
I was going to set up a button on my site to run a function on click and that would run the code to export a csv file of, for example, my customized form for customers. So then I don’t have to go into my wix profile to obtain the information.

Im not sure if I got you right.
In case that you want to update your collection with a mass of information exists on a CSV file all you need to do is to go to your database collection and import the file to the collection.
You’ll be guided by the wix editor as for how to do it and what columns you want to import/how to connect them to your data and so and so…
In case you meant that the user will update his own contact info by uploading a file, that feature unfortunately is not available because it impossible to read\parse a file through the code editor and I would suggest you to submit a Feature Request .

Hi Doron,
Yeah I didn’t mean that. I know about that feature but I meant as far as on the website. Like when you go to a website and you see it says to download a file. I want that file to pull all of the data in the website data collection to me with out doing it through the import/export button inside of wix.
I will definitely put in a feature request if there is no code feature to write out in order to download that information from a website front-end.

imagine a seller who has thousands of items to manually delete 100 at a time how long it takes … at this point it is clear that wix is a suitable platform for those with few products … It is impossible in this way to be able to manage thousands of articles if they cannot be deleted en masse, and not even to be able to manage the photo folders with an ftp … I don’t understand why a platform that has very high potential from the point of view of design, modules etc. has this Achilles heel from the point of view of the lack of being able to delete products by csv or in bulk, and above all does not have an ftp
