I did this with a website a jewelry website I built once. The website had an animal theme so the page transition was quick but it was animal tracks going across the screen. I created the graphic in adobe premiere and rendered it as a flash file I think, later I changed it to a gif. The website plays it smoothly. I’d love to be able to do this on WiX as a built in feature.
That does sound like an interesting option, although I can understand why this feature isn’t already implemented.
When used in the right way, it would look amazing, when used in the wrong way, I think it might look a little tacky. but obviously this is personal preference.
That would all depend on the designer. You can have object transitions now that look tacky, like spin in. A client could say they don’t like a page transition. This is just a desired feature I could use.
There are plenty of ugly Wix websites out there with bright pink backgrounds purple text and blurry images. Not implementing something because someone may not use it right usually doesn’t work out anyway. While I agree, this can be misused and make sites look bad, it could be used in a unique amazing way that will amplify a websites design and this should be implemented.
@cstevens I totally agree. No matter the tools you provide, people will find a way of using them incorrectly. I just think this would end up being some trivial, when time can be spent developing other features that would end up being more beneficial
@noahlovell Oh yeah I agree… Trust me things like sub sub menus are way higher on probably everyone’s priority list than this. Little stuff like this that doesn’t take much time to develop are good suggestions though because it allows Wix to add new features while spending little time on it.
This can probably be done one of two ways. It could be implemented in the current page transition system (unlikely) or they just add a out of the box preloader system which would not be hard to implement and probably should be a thing anyway.
@cstevens Agreed. Sub sub pages, mega menus, and split menus are high on my priority list. (I know mega menus can be achieved through velo)
@noahlovell Yeah doing stuff like that through Velo isn’t great and is complicated for clients to update if they need to. Wix really needs to implement that stuff out of the box.
@cstevens l feel they can easily implement custom page transitions with the current one they have. You can already change the page transitions they have. They would just have to add a custom field on to it where you can upload a specific type a file.
