Feature request: Donation Option Wix Events

Would really like a Donation Option at checkout for wix events. I run 16 charity running events through Wix events would really love to increase my charitable donation by suggesting ticket buyers donate more on checkout.

Cheers

Thanks for your feedback! As a workaround, you can add a PayPal Donate button to your site.

Would be 100000% easier to intergrate this into one checkout … People arnt going to checkout twice

Thanks for the feedback!

I so agree . . . need to make a “donate” button on my event. Thanks for considering a slight software addition. Ann

Any progress on this?

Another vote to have a donate feature before checkout on event page.

Any updates on this? Does WIX Donations integrate with the WIX events checkout so it’s a simple addition to the event ticket?

Wix Donations doesn’t integrate, but they have (since this topic was created) added a “Pay what you want” option, where you can set the minimum price.

Alternatively, you could add an automated email or something that invites people to donate more after they’ve purchased a ticket (sending them to a page with the donation app/form on it)

I appreciate the sliding scale option but after using it several times, it turns out people are much more confused by the write-in price than they would be if they had the option to add a donation at check out. An added donation amount (especially with suggested amounts too) could work so much better and more seamlessly, kind of like the tips app that was recently launched for booking services.

Some other advantages:

  • Donations added at check out would make the total amount donated clear to the buyer, especially when buying multiple tickets at once
  • Since pay as you want tickets allow for any amount over a (minimum) ticketed price, it is more laborious for registered charities to calculate and issue receipts for the eligible gift amount.
  • The only way to suggest a donation amount is in the text of the ticket description, which few people read…

Would really appreciate this feature!!

Honestly I don’t think you should do it I think you should look for another way because eventually they will lock you in and then charge you the service fee for every single transaction Just like you’re doing right now with payment plans and payments through their platform
