(fixed) code for header effects different on live site

First off I would like to say I am new & just learning to working with the code for my wix websites. Can anyone help me figure out why the code entered on my site code works in preview mode but not on my live website? I would like to figure this out so I can use the similar features on some of my other websites.

Thanks!

Hey! The #CorvidMasters may be able to shed some light on this. In the interim, have you tried posting to the Corvid Forum? You may get a response there as well.

Good luck!

I have not posted on the Corvid forum yet or have searched for the resolution there either.

Thanks!

@jason84888 Yesterday similar (or at least related) issue was posted on Corvid forum:
https://www.wix.com/corvid/forum/community-discussion/header-with-strip-which-collapsed-on-load-moves-page-elements-down-during-page-loading-chrome-browser
It didn’t get any reply from WIX team yet. But according to your description (preview vs. published behavior differences) it looks to be same problem

Yes unfortunately I noticed these headers issues over a month ago on other websites too. Some of the YouTube tutorials I watched on this have lots of recent code / header comments from users with no one really getting it resolved. I’m sure Wix will get these bugs fixed or hopefully the #CorvidMasters might have a different solution for me to get my headers effects to start working again.

Thanks!

Hey Jason,

This is known issue after a recent update and unfortunately the tutorials haven’t been updated. Basically you need to use some other element’s viewport function other than the header’s. Could be an anchor, or a transparent line pinned to screen or anything like that. There’s a more complex solution as well, but since you’re a beginner this should work just fine.

@skmedia Hi David,
Any chance you may take a look at the issue in the link I added in my previous message?
Is it also known issue?
Thanks,
Dima

@_dima I don’t think it’s a related issue. But yes I’ve seen what you mentioned on sites I’ve worked on, though I don’t think it has to do with collapsing on load necessarily. Even on sites where the header is visible, it will sometimes do this if you’ve shrunk the header. It’s as if the page is loading with some preset header height that isn’t where it should be. You should create a new post for this so the devs can see.

@skmedia Thank you very much I will give that a try.

Issue resolved for now thanks to the advice from @skmedia it worked. #CorvidMasters
