The new format for creating forms in Wix Studio is by far the worst change implemented. In the Classic Editor, forms are easy to build, quick to set up using drag & drop, and styling can be applied directly to the form. In Studio, the new tool for creating forms requires you to go through three steps to accomplish what could be done in one, it’s not drag & drop, and it doesn’t allow for easy and quick design adaptation. It’s much less intuitive, and its use is tremendously complicated compared to the Classic Editor. Please incorporate the form creation format from the Classic Editor into Studio.

We are developing a new project for a client with Wix Studio, and totally in shock at how bad experience and tool flexibility we have to create a simple Ascend form. It is bringing the need to develop the form with Wix inputs and programming the interface so is a custom design just for that? not to mention that we need to program an email trigger to send email notifications and also make sure data is stored in the CRM Velo component.
This is because we can’t easily adjust buttons, field sizes, design, etc.
This is not a good solution to create forms with Wix Studio, the classic editor approaches this requirement in a more suitable way than Wix Studio is doing it.

Thank for @Ventura for bringing this up regarding the new forms and Velo, I was not aware! I am also missing some features that I loved in Wix Forms on the regular Editor…
What I DO like about the Studio forms:
- I can created ONE form once, but then add that same form to multiple pages. Great.
- I don’t need to open the Studio Editor to add fields, I can add and organize them from the Forms and Submissions tab in the Communications Dashboard.
- Fyi, some people have complained the Captcha field is missing, but apparently this feature is built-in now? I haven’t observed in action yet, but if so, that is also awesome. One less thing to worry about. (Also the Captcha field always messed with the symmetry of my form design.)
What I am MISSING and needing in the Wix Studio Forms:
- Signature Field
- Standalone Forms
- Ability to Connect Forms to CMS/data
- All Contact Field available in Wix Contacts needs to be available in Wix Forms and the ability to connect these field and any additional custom fields to Wix Contacts
The missing Signature Field is pretty big for me. I just moved a client to Wix Studio that runs a busy brick and mortar clinic (massage therapy & esthetics). We thought we were going to be able to create an Health Waiver to send to clients digitally.
I was also shocked there was not point of entry for Velo with forms in the Studio Editor! Would be great to hear from Wix if any of the issues we brought up in this post are on the Roadmap.
Wix Roadmap
I checked out the Wix Studio Roadmap and there was zero listed about Forms. In the Roadmap you can go to the Wix Forms tab… but obviously there is a gap in capabilities for Wix Forms in the old Editor and the Studio Editor.
