Forms Phone Number Format Issue

Question:
I have set up a form with a phone number field. The problem I am having, is that when the user enters a valid phone number, Wix automatically adds a ‘+’ symbol before the country code i.e +1234 567890 and then rejects the form. Presumably because its expecting numbers only, not a ‘+’ symbol. This is crazy! Anyone have any ideas?

I had the problem and the solution shouldn’t be the solution but it works.
Go to the Phone Field.
Click on the Gear setting
Go to Advance Settings
Turn on “Show default country code”
Turn on “Display country flags”
Save
Publish

This resolved it for me.
Good luck,
Mark

Thanks Mark. I’ll give it a try

Same issue — doesn’t work for me. No matter what I try, the phone gets rejected.

This is still a problem…

I am having the same issue. This unnecessary.

I am having this problem with all my clients and their clients. When they do get through all the phone numbers are in various types of format and often incorrect. Anyone know how to FORCE formatting like most forms on other sites have?

Its a joke. Surely the most fundamental part of any website is being able to purchase or send an enquiry.

My only work around was to use a standard field.

The downside is that it won’t supply a properly formatted phone number for Google Enhanced Conversions which means the phone number won’t get recorded as conversion data.

The result is under optimised campaigns, but I’ve accepted that Wix is not ads friendly. The fact they offer some sort of integration is also a joke.

Did y’all resolve this? So far the best option I’ve found is that I keep the auto-input for the country code and hope that the person submitting the form is smart enough to use the form (in my case keeping the +1 or re-entering if they delete it). Let me know if you’ve found a solution! @user3672

Did this really work are you no longer required to input a country code?

Did you resolve this?

I’ve been having the same issue. I’ve spent hours trying to fix it. This is ridiculous!

I just used a standard field, not ideal for data collection in Google ads
