So, I’m trying to add Wix’s Nameservers to a GoDaddy domain and I’m getting the following message. I have never seen this before. Does anyone know what to make of it?
Hey Shannon! We’ve discussed this a few times in the community. Essentially Wix is aware but Godaddy is free to make any recommendations they want.
Don’t the lazy, non-searchers drive you crazy? I honestly didn’t think this was an issue because I connect sites to GoDaddy all the time and have never seen this. So, when it popped up today I assumed it was something entirely new. Thanks for your patience.
@shannon64283 Haha, no worries - we talk about so much all the time that it’s easy to miss posts. Either way, you know I’m always here if you have a question!
Hi @shannon64283 thank you for being an active member of our forum! You ask great questions and provide amazing feedback.
Just wanted to add to the conversation and let you know that you can disregard the message you see when trying to connect a domain to our Nameservers.
All domains that are connected to Wix are being protected with SSL encryption by default with no additional actions needed.
We are an ICANN accredited registrar, so you have nothing to worry about with your domain, security or privacy.
Hey @Shannon,
Wix managed to get GoDaddy to remove this pop up now good news.
Hi,
Quick question. if Wix manage the domain name, is WHOIS Privacy protections Included?
Your domain registrar handles the privacy.
So if you purchased your domain from GoDaddy then you also need to purchase their privacy protection.
Thanks @codequeen , yes they do, but my question was under the assumption that Wix offered and managed domain names. But further searching tells me when they say you get a free domain, they mean they give you a voucher to get one!. So I guess they do not manage Domains.
Wix is also a domain registrar, yes. They also offer privacy, yes, but it is not free.
