I would like to control (weekly) what pages are accessible for members.
I know I can do this with roles/permissions on static pages, but I’d prefer to use dynamic pages.
Assume I have 5 dynamic pages, each associated with a different week. So when we are in the 1st week, only the first page is accessible, and the other 2-5 pages are blocked/grayed/hidden…whatever.
Is this possible? Is it something to do with Filtering between the Connector and Dataset? Any help is wonderful.
Might be possible with code, in which case the Velo forum might be a good place to ask.
Without the use of code, you can filter the dynamic pages to show specific items. If you want to showcase select items, you can try a Boolean field to select some items, and the filter to show items marked as true.
Does this method work for an entire dynamic page, or is it only for fields within dynamic pages?
I’m really looking for a way to keep pages of content hidden until the appropriate time. Kind of like in a classroom, you wouldn’t see all of the content for the entire class the first week…you would get the content in weekly chunks.
Not sure I understand the question but you can add the Boolean field to mark an item as checked. With the filter set as I showed above, it will only show the fields marked True .
Regarding the intent, rather than creating dynamic pages and filtering out the items to only display the current “item” and then show the next one, why not use Wix Online Programs ? With that, you can create the next steps of the program, choose when the events take place and also hide future steps from being accessible until the date. Example of what that may look like below.
There are some other apps that allow dripping content like being able to schedule blog posts , schedule a publish time for Wix Videos , and future dating online programs as mentioned above. Guess it depends what you would like to do but there are some options.
