Using Wix Studio I would like to make my home page background image fit my display’s full height and width such as this example https://www.bobmartin.com - this full bleed design nicely scales to three different sized monitors with different resolutions.
I am using an image with exactly the same resolution dimensions as my screen so that I have the same aspect ratio, however, the image is always cut off on the height.
I have tried all manner of settings in Wix Studio such, including the advanced size settings height (VH) but no joy so far. Wix help just says use ‘Scale to Fit’ which doesn’t resolve my problem.
Please see attached screen grabs - Header_Edit_01 shows full image, Edit Section Background image 02 shows cut off image.
Thanks in advance.
Home Page Section Background Image Preview Screen Grab.
Since you’re setting the background of the section, you’ll want to change the section to “Scale to fit” - regardless of the screens size, the section will follow the height and width dimensions.
To prevent the image from being cut off, you’ll want to set the focal point. In the inspector you’ll see a little dot icon with 4 corners (next to the delete icon).
With this, you can set the focal point to the persons face - Studio Editor: Editing and Customizing Images | Help Center | Wix.com - which will keep it within the section as the site visitors screen changes
Hi,
Thanks for taking the time to reply.
One of my screen grabs shows I am using ‘scale to fit’
I am aware of the focal point option and how to use it, however, so much of the image is missing (cut off) that the focal point makes matters worse.
There must be a way of showing an image in its entirity which already has the correct aspect ratio and resolution that matches my display resolution settings.
in the preview you are viewing at 1920 x 807. The 807 height is not a standard aspect ratio (should be 1080) so wont display correctly. I always publish and view the site and have an extention to adjust screen sizes in the browser to test.

Hi Dan,
Thank you very much, 1080 preview height advice has resolved my problem.
