It is currently showing $(amount) but I would like to show my base currency code in front of the $, so SGD$(amount) or USD$(amount)

Basic Wix problem as usual.
In order to do this you would likely need to rebuild whole sections of the stores app yourself. I am currently looking for a fix or workaround for this simple thing that should be possible by default.
The best you can do, without rebuilding, for the moment is vote for this feature and hope they implement it asap!

Same issue for me. Currency written in arabic letters instead of english.
Wix support do not have solutions for that issue.

The currency selector is pretty basic, if you really mean business, you should create your own one, we developed a custom currency selector for our website, you can see its results here .
Is there a solution yet? I think without the currency code it’s deterring people from my website. And honestly I wouldn’t buy fork a site that didn’t have this code either
