I cannot figure out how I can add borders to my columns. I see that WIX studio has premade sections and those have borders but I have no idea how they added them.
Can someone help me out? 
I tried that as well. The problem is the borders are not the same as the borders from the pre-designed sections WIX offers (the pre-designed section is the 3 column one)
Squarespace lets you chose the border position (top, bottom, right, left), does WIX have anything similar? or with CSS?
I’m not sure what pre designed section you are talking about… screen shot ? I’m sure if it is pre made it can be done to any column.

It’s currently not possible to apply borders per each side of the container, although there are a few alternative solutions that help achieve the same effect.
For example, adding a container, then adding a container within it and stretching it. On the parent container, add padding on each side so the child container is “pushed” away from the edge of the parent.
This way, the parent container can have it’s own colour, and the child is pushed away from the edge making it look like a border.

On the Minimal Portfolio Wireframe template, I found the cell “border” is actually the section grid background color, which shows when a 1px gap is added between cell. Then it looks like a border or divider, when each cell background color is white.
