How do I make my hover element pop up behind everything else instead of blocking other elements?

What are you trying to achieve:
I would like my website’s homepage to have a list of titles of projects, and when you hover over a title, a video of that project plays behind the list of titles.

What have you already tried:
I’ve spoken with Wix Customer support but they said this was more of a design issue and they couldn’t help. I have tried arranging layers, which does not work because the hover elements are grouped. Basically, if you move the video to the back of the layer, it will only show the text of the title you are hovered on, but all the other titles in the list will be blocked.

Additional information:
I am wondering if there might be a way to add this function with editing the z-axis in the code? I tried it but it didn’t work & I was probably doing it wrong because I’m not a coder.

Here’s a tutorial that I created on Editor X (now Wix Studio). This might help.
Just simply place the images / videos behind the text instead of the left side column as seen in the video:
