I want to change the hard to read body text through my site but keep the headers the same, is there a way to do this easily (I’m using editor and not API)
When I saw your question, I thought I knew the answer, but the Wix documentation now has be questioning myself.
You should be able to update your text site-wide, if the text element is associated to a Text Theme. For example, if the body text on your side is all set to “Paragraph 3” (a text theme), if you update the properties (and save the updates to the theme) of Paragraph 3 then it should be applied site-wide anywhere the Paragraph 3 theme is used.
You can see Wix’s support article here on how to update Text Themes (the article specifically says save the theme for future use, but i’m 90% certain it will update any existing text element using that theme).
Wix also has a few articles listed here , about common issues/errors when saving themes.
I will note, as you are designing in Wix’s editor, it is super easy to disassociate a text element from a saved theme (almost without knowing you did), and as a result, almost always there are text elements that don’t have a theme association. Meaning, those elements would not be updated via this method. When that happens the only way to update it is to individually re-associate it to a saved theme or manually update its properties.
(I’m very cognizant of keeping text elements associated with themes, but I almost always miss a handful in my site.)
