I searched the forums for this, and I see things involving third party plugins. That is not a solution I am looking for.
href=“sms:xxxxxxxxxx” is standard in HTML.
It’s functionality is wildly accepted across the board.
Do we not have the ability to have this functionality?
There is not a way to do this in the Editor panels.
I have tried .to()
Nothing seems to function as it should.
What am I missing?
I used an Embed Code element to put in a link: this works in most things, but not safari on mobile.
Edit: have to make sure you have target=“_blank” and this functions in safari on mobile.
I put this in as a feature request.
It is common for businesses to be paying for a number specifically for text messaging with customers. So, being able to create sms: links that open the text messaging app on device would be ideal.
If anyone else has a better work around, please let me know.
Thank you. I really hope Wix Studio will add this into the Editor as a Link Type option. The iFrame is less than ideal, but it works.
It’s been 7 years …… I don’t think it will get developed anytime soon.
If it doesn’t make them money …… it gets pushed aside.
