Is it possible to add URL folders?

I would like to have a collection of static pages grouped together like a folder. I’d also like the URL to include a folder name. Is this possible?

site/folder/1
site/folder/2
site/folder/3
etc.

Hi,

Thanks for sharing our feature request.
Currently, it is not possible to add a “/” to your url. We will share with the rest of the team to take into consideration.

Can you please explain how you would plan to use it? It will help us understand what issue to solve

Thank you for your consideration.

For example, I have 4 areas of my site. One for “teams”, one for “products“, one for “market”, and one for “impact”. I’d like the team pages to be together - “site/teams/design”, “site/teams/operations” - then the product pages together - “site/products/design”, “site/products/planning” - and so on.

all the best,
Pete

@sebi-vidret , this would be a huge feature to add to Editor X. I know it’s currently a possibility in Wix. Seeing how Editor X attracts more complex and professional sites, it would be a huge help to have folders to help organize information and access to pages.

Hello @info18491 ,

I will forward this to our team but this is also a currently a feature request on the Wix Editor as well.

However, using dynamic pages , you can have forward slashes to create a “folder” for the pages. This article shows the example of having /recipe be the index page with then /recipe/{title} as the subsequent pages.

Hope this might help as a workaround.

Thank you for the ideas, Roberto! I wish I could use the dynamic pages and it’s URL benefits. Unfortunately my pages need additional markup (essentially additional colors) beyond the main styles in my template library, so I can’t use the rich text field. I haven’t found a work around for that yet. Is there a way to add any content you might have on a normal page into the collections database to be rendered on a dynamic page?

I see my request as different than adding slashes to the URL. That would be nice too, but I have about 25 pages with a plan to increase to about 100 pages. It’s already getting difficult to find the page I want in a single scroll list drop down. I’d like to have actual organizing folders for sorting content pages, with each organizing folder having a matching URL.

Understood and wish the dynamic pages would have been able to help. Can you elaborate what you mean by the content on the collections database to be rendered on a dynamic page?

Gotcha. This seems to relate to the request for Reorganize Pages . If you are having difficulties with looking for pages, while perhaps not ideal, you can search in the pages panel.

@Rob Thanks! I added a vote to that feature as well!

The search bar on the pages menu is a little faster. Thanks for that suggestion. And I’ll still cross my fingers for folders with URL aliases.

Thanks!

@Rob Sure. I have 4 categories of content, and 20 items per category. For each of the 80 items, I have a description, the a bulleted list of guidance, and some of those points of guidance get a yellow color because they‘re alerts of caution. Some of them get a red color because they’re warnings of “do not do this!” The third category of guidance are just simple suggestions or tips, so they get a more-subtle grey color. (Could be text color or text background color.)

The rest of the layout is standard. I’d love to have one dynamic page for each category to set the design template, and then use the database to populate the content, entering the rich text into the database, and then rendering it on the page in the appropriate place.

For example: https://LibraryOfAgile.org/t2

Am I explaining that well?

Where can we see the list with feature requests and the votings? And where is the backlog to see what is in the making?

@Rob that is very good to know. Dynamic pages may offer a workaround for the time being for certain projects. Currently, the feature would only help for the instance I am looking for. Thank you! I will vote on it.

The listings of feature requests can be found in our support articles such as https://support.wix.com/en/editor-x-1670064/about-editor-x-366183 .

As for a backlog of what is being worked, we do have a coming soon page showcasing features that are being worked on.
