Issue with copyToClipboard() - Modal Popup Box in mobile/iPad

Hi everyone;

The modal popup which shows up when you invoke copyToClipboard() is creating problems on an iiPhone.

  • the entire iPhone screen gets filled by the modal popup

  • when you press ‘Copy’:

  • the keyboard shows up,

  • the clipped content is highlited,

  • and a check icon appears on the black button.

  • At this point the small ‘X’ icon to return is “OFF THE SCREEN” of the iPhone! There is no apparent way to exit out of the modal window.

Can anyone help out here?

Also the black and white contrast of this dialog is really jarring. How can this be tuned down.

Thanks in advance,

Hi!

Please consider going through Wix Support about this issue since then it is easier to take a deeper look and troubleshoot the functionality and layout:

I don’t think this is something that needs to be handled on a one-off basis by Wix Support. This is a fundamental problem with the design of the Wix copy-to-clipboard popup.

Even if it really needs to be a popup, where text comes out of an input box, then clicking the “Copy” button should immediately close the popup. But it doesn’t. Instead, the screen zooms in on the input box (at least on iPhones), which puts the “X” button out of sight. Sure, a savvy user can figure out what to do, but it’s really clunky and misleading… and takes WAY too many clicks!

On my desktop site, it’s a single click, and I added a little “copied” indicator that gently fades away. Simple and clean.

But on mobile, it’s a complicated, multi-step process that requires two clicks, scrolling to find an off-screen elements that the user likely wouldn’t have even noticed yet, and then a third click if they managed to get that far. It’s horrible.

Has anyone found a solution to this issue on Safari?
