Issues with custom member signup

Guys

any issues you have seen when using custom member signup?

In particular my signup page works perfectly when the user presses the members “Login / Signup” however if they go to a members only page and are presented with the signup page all the buttons do absolutely nothing like they are disabled but not because they can still be pressed but no outcome, I have even tried a simple $w(“#text”).show() on the click event with no other code just to try and nothing.

Anyone seen this in the past?
