Hi guys,
I’ve been working a lot on my blog, so much that’s its becoming a great source of SEO traffic today. Thing is, I’m trying to hook up the readers to become site members as the information shared is more valuable when my members contribute to it.
I’ve already put in place several methods such as:
1/ lightbox - works but doesn’t really incite
2/ In blog post links to join as members… this is is in the testing but results are quite low.
3/ Make the blog a member’s access only - Huge success, but SEO results starting to drop down sharp meaning after 3 days, I wasn’t showing up there anymore so no one to sign up.
After contacting the Wix team, they initially told me it was unrelated. However when insisting, a more senior member came up to identify the issue and confirm any page locked down to members is not SEO friendly anymore.
Option; how do newspaper do it?
I often see editorial websites 'incitivising ’ (basically forcing) their readers to sign up or subscribe to their membership or newsletter to read more. They do this via two ways:
1/ either you reach a point in the article and told, to read further you have to subscribe
2/ either you’ve been reading for X mins & to continue need to sign up.
How could we implement this on Wix Blog… so you have the option of being SEO compatible while incitivising your users to become a member meaning longer term value? In my scenario, I’m ready to look afurther collaboration for this job (in option 1, after reaching a certain point in the article) as it will be a growing burden.
