I’m trying to help a client of mine create profiles for members on his site that the members can edit themselves. He needs to be able to approve the members. He has the wix members app. Here’s what I have done. In the members pages, I set up an edit profile page that is connected to my own dataset separate from any of the wix datasets (since they don’t let you edit those from what I understand). The same dataset of course is connected to a dynamic profile page. I don’t know if this is important to note, but I’ve also created light boxes so that when they click on an area they want to make an edit, the Lightbox comes up. The light boxes are also connected to the dataset. Each dataset in edit profile filtered to owner - is - loggedinuser. When I went to go test it after logging in on my own account, it worked like a charm. I was able to make my own profile. Then when I showed it to my client - we couldn’t get it to work anymore! The one thing we tried that worked was that he logged in through Facebook and suddenly that one account seemed to work for some reason. When I say it won’t work anymore, what I mean is this: the edit profile page is essentially not connecting to anything. It grays out the submit button and won’t let you type anything in to the user input boxes. It won’t let you upload a profile picture. It doesn’t collapse the images that normally collapse if the fields are blank.
Here’s what I have tried:
I tried adding a field that would match a field in private member database, and then replacing the logged-in user filter with a field-is-filed from other database filter. The result: the images that were supposed to collapse, collapsed. The submit button wasn’t grayed out. When I typed something into the text input, and hit submit, the text box connected to that field showed what I typed after I hit submit. However, I got an error message, and it did not create a new item in the database.
I have tried looking up code for this but I suck at coding. So if there’s some coding thing I have to do here someone’s going to have to really explain it to me like I’m 8 years old or it’s going to go over my head. I’ve heard some forums answer similar solutions with, well why don’t you just create your own members database instead of using Wix. Well for one, that’s a lot of coding and stuff that’s over my head that I’d rather not have to do. Secondly, how is that different than what I’ve set up already? How do I get my members to fill out a form and have it submit a new item to a database?
By the way, I have tried going back and forth to having my database be member-generated content and members-only form submission. That didn’t do anything.

This probably won’t do a lot since you don’t have access to it but here’s the link to a test profile that isn’t [working:](working:
