The Wix repeater elements for Wix Events would meet lots of needs, if they had filtering like repeaters used with standard collections. But they don’t.
Rather than write code every time a selective list of events is needed on a page, I wonder about mirroring the Wix Events collection to another collection that can be used with the standard repeater, giving filtering on key fields, like START DATE. Could also join it to another collection where categories can be assigned to each event, enabling event filtering by categories.
Has anyone set up a scheduled mirroring routine to duplicate the Wix Events collection to a separate collection for purposes like this? Any reasons this can’t/shouldn’t be done? Suggestions for a better option? (Of course, Wix enabling extensive filtering options in their Event repeaters–and adding category tags to the event setup–would be a superb solution! Or at least enabling filtering in datasets on a number of key fields in the Events collections.)
