Mobile Menu Is Reversed Order Compared to Desktop

Could anyone help me understand why the desktop and mobile menus don’t match in order.

I have tried to change the menu order on mobile, because I want it to match the desktop version, but when when editing on mobile it changes the desktop version too!?

How can I fix the hamburger menu on mobile to match the desktop version (horizontal) version, thank you!

The desktop and mobile menus don’t maintain separate item orders — they share the same menu sequence. When you edit menu order on one breakpoint, it changes everywhere.

What’s probably happening: your mobile menu is rendering right-to-left or bottom-to-top due to its layout direction, which reverses the visual order even though the underlying sequence is unchanged.

Check your mobile menu’s display settings — hamburger menus can stack items vertically from bottom or display horizontally reversed. The fix is adjusting the menu container’s flex direction or alignment in the Inspector panel, not reordering items.

If you need genuinely different navigation structures per breakpoint (fewer items on mobile, say), hide specific menu items at smaller breakpoints and show alternatives. Wix Studio doesn’t support per-breakpoint item reordering within one menu.

Correcting my earlier reply — I had this wrong.

Your hamburger menu is a separate element from the desktop menu, and it can
display its own menu with its own item order. The reason editing one changes
the other is that both elements are currently pointing at the same site menu.
One menu, two elements, so every edit is global.

Give the hamburger its own:

Select the hamburger menu element. Open Manage Menu. Click the dropdown under
“Which menu is displayed?” and choose Manage Site Menus. Click + Add New Menu
at the bottom, name it (the name is internal only), then Exit and add your
items with + Add new Item in the order you want.

Now the mobile menu has its own item list and editing it leaves the desktop
menu alone.

What you can’t do is reorder a single menu differently per breakpoint — the
order belongs to the menu, not the breakpoint. Which is exactly why one menu
on two elements can never disagree with itself.
