Multilingual wrong abbreviation workaround

Question:
It’s crucial for my site to have a different language abbreviation than it’s currently hardcoded into Wix Multilingual. Specifically, I need to have Belarusian language abbreviated as BY instead of BE

This must be visible as BY in the language selector as well as /by/ subdirectory in the URL, for such as example.com/by/post
Currently it’s example.com/be/post

Are there workarounds for achieving that? Like using a router page and injecting js to replace BE link to BY?

Yes this would be possible with a router. You can return whatever router page you want for whichever endpoint a user visits.

Another possibility on the old site is to setup a 301 Permanent Redirect such that any page at /by/ would redirect to the equivalent /be/ (ex. example.com/by/page → example.com/be/page) . Any visitor’s browser would go to the new URL.
