Multiple menus and pages in Studio - wrong menu and design is pasted

Hi, I’ve been using Wix for many years to manage my website, but I’ve encountered numerous issues that I thought could be resolved by moving to Wix Studio and redesigning my entire site. The main problem I’m facing is with managing menus.

As a filmmaker, my website features different projects. The main menu on my site directs visitors to these various films. For each film, I want to create a unique menu that links to different pages related to that specific film - a submenu that seds the visitor to pages like trailer, press, gallery, and so on. You can see my current website here: Ofir-raul-graizer.com.

On my original Wix website, I wasn’t able to create different menus that would appear only on specific pages. I had to resort to using BUTTONS instead of menus because any new menu I created would automatically include the same content as the main menu, which isn’t what I wanted. As you see there, the main menu above is a regular menus; the sub menus in the films pages are in fact BUTTONS, copied and pasted to each page from that film.

One of the main reason I consider upgrading to Studio is the ability to create multiple menus. But sadly, I’m running into a similar issue. While I can create different menus, I’m having trouble copying and pasting these submenus across different pages related to the same project. When I try to copy a menu from one page to another, it defaults back to the main menu instead of keeping the other menu I created. Additionally, the design and layout of the menu don’t remain intact after copying.

This is a significant problem for me because I want to maintain a cohesive and user-friendly design across my site. One of the main reasons I’m considering upgrading to Wix Studio is to rebuild my site with proper menu navigation rather than relying on buttons.

Could you please advise if it’s possible to create submenus in Wix Studio, have them appear on selected pages while retaining their design, and how I might achieve this? I’d like to ensure that my new website functions as intended before committing to a plan.

Thank you.

Hi,

Hope you are well.

Please check this tutorial - https://youtu.be/47MiGppQ1DU

You can create multiple menus(select the menu, click manage menu, and add new menu), add them to sections, make the section global, and add it to as many pages as you want.

Alternatively, you can simply add the menu on the page and select the menu of you choice from its settings

Thank, that’s super helpful! I managed to create several different menus.
My new problem is that when trying to apply these menus to different pages, I don’t know which one to choose!
Since some of the pages have the same name (For most of my projects I have the same pages: trailer, gallery, press…) I have to play a “guessing game” :frowning: See bellow how it looks:

Any tip on how to have a better workflow there, other than renaming all pages and renaming them again after I’m done with the design? Or is there another way to build this?
Thank you!

You can go to the pages and add the global section or Menu there.

If you wanna use this method, you will have to temporarily change the name of page a bit(you can do it from the Page tab>options>)

Bonus tip-
Also, if you are upload videos or copyrighted materials, add a custom schema for creative works, it will help you get more traffic and rank much better on search engines.

Thank you. I found the best way to add the section with the submenu without renaming all pages is to go to the page, go to Global Sections, choose the section I want and “Add to page”.
So thank you for the tips. About the custue scheme, can you please elaborate or send me a link to a guide/video? I have no idea what that is

That’s awesome.

Custom schema markups tells search engine important information about your webpage. You must have seen the name of relevant movies when you search for a director or actor names. Like that
